Cooking Instructions

For the stovetop, bring 1 cup water and ¼ tsp salt (optional) to a boil and add 1 cup quick rolled oats. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes (depending on desired consistency, firm to soft and creamy). Stir occasionally. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 2 minutes, stir, and serve. For the microwave, in a large bowl, combine oats, water and salt. Cover and microwave on high for 1.5-2 minutes (depending on desired consistency, firm to soft and creamy). Let stand for 1 minute, stir, and serve.

Suggested Recipe

Maple Cinnamon Overnight Oats

Serves 4

  • 2 cups Farmer Direct Organic Quick Rolled Oats
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup toppings of choice, such as chopped nuts, fresh or frozen berries, or sliced banana

Evenly divide oats, milk, maple syrup, vanilla and cinnamon into four sealable containers. Stir to combine. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of desired toppings on top of each mixture before sealing containers. Refrigerate at least 6 hours before enjoying.
