It may sound strange, but puréed black beans are the secret ingredient making these brownies incredibly moist and tender. They also give this classic sweet a protein kick!
- 1 3/4 cup prepared Farmer Direct Organic Black Beans, drained and rinsed
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar (or sub 1/2 cup honey)
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Line a 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips in a blender. Blend until smooth, and pour evenly into baking dish. Top with chocolate chips.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool completely before serving, about 30 minutes.
